Today I'm going to continue to talk about what I started a few weeks ago, to talk about towels and crowns about serving at hungry gen we believe that

we are not volunteers we are servant leaders volunteers is when people serve an organization

we don't serve a cause. We serve Christ. We call ourselves servants. I know this may seem

a little diminishing for some of you, but that is not a diminishing thing at all. Because when you

volunteer, it's all about when it's convenient, when you volunteer, it's all about a non-profit,

an organization. When you serve, it's about not just your comfort, it's about your calling, it's about your anointing, and it's about the cause of Christ. It's about Jesus.

That's why in Colossians it says, whatever you do, do it heartily as unto the Lord, not as to men.

Volunteer chooses to help. he sees it as optional works for

organization or a cause may stop when it's inconvenient and acts out of kindness or

out of interest a servant sees it as a joyful responsibility he does it onto the Lord

he stays faithful even when unseen. See, when the motive for

your serving is recognition. When the motive for your serving is applause, you are volunteering. When it's

serving Christ, it is not about what I get in return.

It is about the Christ is glorified and my gifts are used for his service.

I love the fact that Jesus didn't say, I came to this earth to volunteer.

He says, I came into this world to serve.

We are not volunteers at Hungry Jen.

We are servants at Hungry Jan. And we are not serving Hungry Jen. We are serving Christ. We are serving Jesus by serving each other. Can somebody say amen? When we see ourselves as volunteers, we feel like we're doing God a favor and church and God should applaud us but when you see yourself as

servants you don't see yourself doing God a favor you see that it's a privilege to be involved in what God is
