It's always on our minds, isn't it?

ask directly for a raise.

So why do I say that?

This is an important context.

And it needs to be revisited.

The context is if I am, however I am approaching the subject of the raise, if I am making

it all about a financial bump, the leader is going to be predisposed.

Or in other words, a natural reaction is to be slightly defensive.
