Sadly, it took the murder of George Floyd to wake us up.

But it does seem that America today is paying more attention to and trying

to cope with the problem of systemic racism in this country more than ever before.

Looking at how the history of racism is built into almost everything we do. Yes, in police forces,

but also in schools, offices, government, the military, sports,

and big business, and even how an outright racist was able to take over the Oval Office.

Most importantly, what can we do and what should we do about ending systemic racism?

Well, for CNN's Don Lemon, today's debate about racism rekindled a passion he first felt

when, as a young man, he read James Baldwin's classic, The Fire, next time.

And now, Don has challenged that passion about how Americans must accept the reality of racism and work together to end it into his own book, This Is the Fire.
