Portland True Blue is a diorist, a poster, a blogger over at DailyCose.com, which is

a fabulous, you know, Marcos Molizis' blog.

Portland True Blue wrote a, I don't know, five paragraphs, six paragraph piece that went

up on their blog today that really touched me and I want to share it with you.

Because I think that we so easily disconnect ourselves, I mean, 300,000 people are dead.

Multiple millions of people are going to be permanently disabled from this virus.

But somehow, you know, we've stopped applauding at seven o'clock every night, the nurses

and doctors and what.

And I say, let me just read this.

Just off four back-to-back shifts all between 13 to 16 hours each.

This is a person who's working in the big hospital here in Portland, where two of my kids

work.

Two days off and then back and so it goes day in, day out.

Our unit is settled into a grim routine.

New patients come in, old patients leave, about 40% in a morgue trolley.

I feel like a zombie.

My emotions have been walled off in an effort to preserve my remaining sanity.

I got home at 2 a.m. this morning, I have two days off, I got an emergency request to

work, but I just can't.

I have nothing left to give.

I have a new procedure.
