Something else that's very important to women is heart disease, and I want to tell you about

American Heart Association.

Heart disease and stroke claim the lives of more women than all forms of cancer combined,

yet we remain underrepresented in cardiovascular research by over 60%.

That's a problem. For too long, we've been left out of research and treated largely based on

scientific findings found in men. We now know more about the differences between men and women,

including the fact that we may experience different heart disease and stroke symptoms than men.

Research provides the foundation for our doctors to treat us and we deserve to be accounted

for in the findings to ensure the care we receive is tailored to our needs.
