So let's go together to the gospel of Matthew chapter number 15.

I'm in a series called Detox. This is week five of this series.

And this particular message is a message that, I mean, what I just want to say this.

I want us, and I know for some of you change is like a new normal, but here's what I believe.

I believe that in part, many of us have been conditioned to see any sort of spiritual challenge

as spiritual condemnation.

When what I want us to understand is this whenever God shows us something that's wrong he's not just showing us what's wrong he's showing us

what he want to fix he's a good father.

He's saying, let me show you this because I want to fix this for you.

Does that make sense?

So I want you to hear our heart today.

Matthew chapter 15, verse 1 says,

then the Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,

why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat. He answered them, and why do you break the commandment of God for the sake

of your tradition? For God commanded, honor your father and mother.

And whoever reviles their father or mother must surely die.

But you say if anyone tells his father or his mother,

what you would have gained from me is given to God. He need not honor his father.

So for the sake of your tradition, you have made void the word of God.

I want to stop the reading of scripture there and talk from this subject family.

This does not go together. Some of y'all feel that way about sugar and grits.

I don't. This put my sugar on my grits and leave me alone. And butter. Huh?
