Witnesses are becoming incredibly forgetful all of a sudden.

From New York City, Roberta Glass is now on the record. So I've always thought that the murder of Dan Markell was a unique true crime story in that it has taken so many years to unfold.

And we've watched defendant after defendant, after defendant, get convicted.

And it looks like it will not stop anytime soon.

So before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you what happened.

Let me tell you the story. In the late morning

hours of July 14th, 2014, esteemed Florida State University law professor Dan Markell was murdered in the driveway of his home.

He had just pulled in to the driveway. He was talking to his friend on the cell phone,

and his neighbor heard two shots ring out and he went over to investigate.

He found his neighbor, Dan Markell, shot twice, his rush to the hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

But who would want to kill Dan Markell?

He was a beloved law professor, blogger, and by most accounts, an all-around nice guy.

The answer to that question is revealed in emails from Dan's former mother-in-law, Donna Ableton,

to her daughter, Wendy.

Adelson.

In lengthy emails, Donna outlines a plan to get Wendy and Dan's two children, and most importantly, Wendy to move to Miami, where Donna and her dentist husband, Harvey,

live. A court had barred Wendy from relocating from Tallahassee, a town that she hated.

This was known as Wendy's problem. And how to solve Wendy's problem?
