America seems to have a child abuse problem.

By that, of course, I do mean in one sense the

prevalence of violence against children, even if we are listed among the top five

countries considered to be the best environment for children, and more specifically the

prevalence of child sexual abuse, though again, the

U.S. does have a lower rate than most other countries at around 10%.

Obviously, the occurrence of any such abuse will always be intolerable and unconscionable, but the child abuse problem, I mean, goes all the way

to the top here in the U.S., to the halls of power, and to the bottom, to the very foundations of our culture.

Ever since Donald Trump started his run for office in 2016, he was connected to incidents of sexual indiscretion, and specifically sexual assault.

What with numerous rape allegations, one of them successfully adjudicated, and the Access Hollywood tape of him remarking on groping women without their consent.

But particularly disgusting have been his inappropriate remarks about minors, such as remarking

about a young girl that he would be dating her in the future.
