Hello everyone Kirk here with another older Strong Songs episode for you all as I work on the next season of the show.

This one's from 2019, the first full year that I was

making strong songs and it's about two different recordings of my favorite Aretha Franklin's

song Think. Before we get into that though I've got a quick music recommendation

for you all and it's tied to what will double as a TV show recommendation as

well. A few weeks back my wife and I discovered delicious in dungeon, the acclaimed new anime airing on Netflix based on the manga by Ryoku Kui.

It is a great show, I'm sure many of you already know that, some of you might not know that and I'm very

happy to get to make that recommendation to anyone who hasn't seen it. It is just

lovely and creative very well done but it's also musically great both in terms of the original score and the songs that play during the opening and closing credits of each episode.

I'm not super knowledgeable about the world of J-pop or more, about the world of Japanese music,

but I have loved all of the modern J-pop bands

that they have featured on the show so far. This is the main theme from Delicious Intention and fun fact the music was co-composed by the

great Yasunori Mitsuda.

Mitsuda is a legendary video game composer, perhaps best known for his work on Kronotrigger and Zeno Gears, along with another composer named

Shunsuke Susia.

It's really great music, so many interesting instruments, so many great performances.

It's easy to kind of ignore it or let it slide by you but

actually the more I listened the more I was struck by just what a beautiful vibe

the music has. There's a lot of great woodwind work in general. I'm a huge fan of woodwind instruments
