Smith and Callie Black. Hey, it's Callie Black here with Today's Thought. Let's open up to Genesis

Chapter 42, verse 36. I asked my friend how she was doing last week, and she said,

you know those weeks when everything seems to be going

wrong? And I said, yep, yep, I do. We complained to each other for a bit about broken water

heaters, too many weeds, car repairs, and hectic schedules. I'm sure that Father Jacob felt this

all at once emotional pain overcome him when he saw his son's return from their

first trip to Egypt. His son Joseph had been gone for years at this point, but I'm sure the pain

was still fresh. Simon was now imprisoned in Egypt. And they wanted to take Benjamin with them when they returned he surely would

be taken from him too it's no wonder that Jacob cried out like so many of us have in

Genesis chapter 42 verse 36 all these things are against me but what are we reminded of in psalm 56 verse nine god is for me things may be against us water heaters and car repairs

may be out to make our lives miserable but god will always be

for us when i remember this i have been able to stay focused on attitudes of prayer

gratitude and humble optimism focusing on my savior so the takeaway of the day in five words or less,

God is for us.
