Summary

We often hear stories of the Old Testament heroes of the faith; yet fail to relate the lessons they learned to our own lives. Abel, Enoch, Abraham, Moses, Noah and others all seem spiritually out of reach, but "They Were Just Like Us." In this eleven-part series, Michael Youssef examines the trials and turmoil, failures and faults, of each of these men and women to reveal the realities of faith. Allow God to conform you to His likeness, and your faith will reach new heights.

Some of us have an easier time than others in our ability to confess and acknowledge our weaknesses. There are some

our weaknesses. And when we do that, we don't give God the Holy Spirit an opportunity to take those weaknesses,

turn them around, and use us in a mighty way.

1:36.6

Take, for example, a control freak.

But that person, when he or she confesses that weakness and when asked the Lord God to come and to strengthen them,

1:53.8

God not only going to forgive, but he's going to give the victory over these weaknesses.

1:59.3

But if I say, well, if I weren't like this, nothing would get

2:04.4

done. If I weren't like this, I could never be successful. That is rationalizing a weakness,

2:12.6

not acknowledging it and confessing it, or take the person who's filled with doubt all the time. Now, most of us

2:19.7

have some doubt sometime, but if you see a person who is constantly living in doubt, and if that

2:28.2

person confesses that doubt to God, if that person asks for the power of God to replace this doubt with the gift of faith,
