So this is how it started for me and why I never gave up.

I was born in 1971 in Queens General Hospital in New York. My first day of birth was a battle from the get-go. Number one, I was a 10.5 pound baby, and I was already one full month overdue. Yes,

one full month. I was a 10-month-term baby instead of a nine-month-term baby. Why? I have no idea why they didn't induce labor or give my mother a cesarean section, but they didn't. Now, upon giving birth, my mother had severe hemorrhaging, and there's obviously a reason why, I was massive. I tore up her

insides and her outsides and struggled to get free from the birth canal. After I was born,

I had a defect, a major birth defect that they finally found.

A huge, huge gaping hole in my heart.

And I was hemorrhaging internally.

So my first day here in this realm on this earth was a battle, a battle for me and a battle for my mother as a side effect.

Both of us happened to be R-H-negative blood type, which is extremely rare.

Only about 13 to 15% of the world, depending on the study you read, has this blood type.
