Summary

Riley opens with a bombshell - a temporary restraining order filed amid her appointment to the Sumner County Library Board. She breaks down what happened at the first meeting, why the lawsuit really targets her, and why the fight is about more than procedure—it’s about which books sit in front of kids. Then she takes listeners back to the 2023 Brave Books story hour with Kirk Cameron, the moment that sparked her activism and the backlash that followed. A candid look at faith, motherhood, and fearless conviction—plus the story behind “We Just Asked for 30 Seconds of Quiet.” Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

You know, I really thought I could make it my whole life without having a restraining order filed against me.

Now, look, if you've been following me on social media, maybe you saw where I was recently appointed to the Sumner County Library Board.

0:19.3

That's what this podcast episode is about,

0:21.9

how this appointment came about, why I'm excited about this, and of course, the drama that has

0:26.9

ensued since. I filmed this episode about two weeks ago prior to the first meeting. But naturally,

0:33.3

there are some updates following that first meeting. Similarly to my

deserve procedural scrutiny based on her own personal taste.

1:11.4

And what's the draw in of having myself on the library board?

1:14.2

It's highlighting the pornographic books that are in our county library and getting them out

1:19.6

up there.

1:20.0

It appears to me that this woman and a lot of liberals in Sumner County and across the nation

1:24.1

are desperate.

1:25.5

We'll go as far as to sue the county commission to put suggestive

1:30.3

sexually explicit material in front of children. I respect and truthfully I admire every civilian

1:37.3

who is willing to get involved in local politics, including the woman who sued the county,

1:41.3

but I just wish she would come out and be upfront about why she is

1:45.1

choosing to scrutinize the county now. We'll get into all of that and more in today's
