The Boy Scouts of America have issued a statement about Donald Trump's recent speech

at the Boy Scout National Jamboree.

Michael Surbaugh, chief executive of the Boy Scouts of America, said this.

I want to extend my sincere apologies to those in our scouting family

who were offended by the political rhetoric that was inserted into the Jamboree.

This was never our intent.

We had no way of knowing that a president who responds to terrorist attacks

by tweeting, I called it, would possibly make this event about him.

Furthermore, there was no way we could have possibly anticipated

that President Trump would not adhere to the norms of decorum in a public setting.
