Hello everyone and welcome back to Scary Interesting. In this video, we're going to go over two

disturbing incidents where cavers went into the water deep inside caves and then something horrifying

happened to each of them. As always, view discretion is advised.

The entrance to Climax Cave doesn't look like much from the outside. It's just a yawning sinkhole tucked away in the pine woods of Decatur County, Georgia.

There are no signs or even hints of the vast labyrinth hidden below ground.

For most people, it's just another patch of private land

outside the town of Climax. For cavers, however, as is often the case, a Climax Cave is

something else entirely. Bruce Brewer probably knew this cave better than anyone. At 33 years old,

he was already a 10-year veteran of the caving world in 2003, and as is also often the case,

he wasn't some reckless thrill-seeker.

Bruce was meticulous, thoughtful, and deeply respected by those who knew him.

And to him, the caves weren't just holes in the ground, they were hidden worlds of delicate

ecosystems few people would ever see.

And Climax K was one of his favorites.

Bruce had been through it more than a hundred times, crawling, climbing, and squeezing his way through nearly eight miles or 13 kilometers of map passages.

This makes it the second longest dry cave in the entire state.

Dry in this case is a relative turn though because although it lacks the steady streams

and flowing rivers of wetter caves, there are still pools of water throughout.

The entrance itself is a massive sinkhole that drops 30 feet or

nearly 10 meters. Three main pasturways sprawl out from there, each with their own unique features.

One is a wide hole that needs to be rigged with rope. Another is a chimney tube, narrow and slick

that forces cavers to suspend themselves in midair. And then there's the shaft. This route
