Summary

Today’s episode is all about Theresa May, but that doesn’t mean it’s all about Brexit. It’s a common argument: the main reason Theresa May failed as prime minister is that she got her whole approach to Brexit wrong and screwed up negotiations with both the EU and MPs. But there are other moments that could ultimately have caused her political demise, even before she took the top job. Her former adviser Chris Wilkins and the BBC’s Deputy Political Editor John Pienaar take a look back at Theresa May’s doomed premiership. This is the first half of a two-part series. 1:27.4	either Johnson or Hunt is going to be driven to Downing Street. Now we're going to look at our next Prime Minister in
1:34.9	tomorrow's episode but today it's all about Theresa May. Now that doesn't mean
1:39.6	though it's all about Brexit. The common argument that you hear is that Theresa May screwed
1:44.5	up Brexit that she got her whole approach to the negotiations wrong and that that's
1:48.7	why she failed. But listening to the people that we've got lined up today I
1:52.4	realize there is a whole other reason that explains where it all did go wrong.
