belated, independent day.

Hope you guys enjoyed the Fourth of July.

It's always been a favorite of mine growing up.

I just love the fireworks and the barbecues.

It's just a great family holiday.

Which brings me to my next question.

What do you actually know about the history

of the star-spangled banner?

I'm going to tell you, it was originally a poem

that was written by a man named Francis Scott Key.

He wrote it in 1814.

Actually, the original title was The Defense of Fort

McKenry.

That's because he was actually there

on a night during 1812 when the British, during the War

of 1812, bombarded Fort McKenry.

And what he saw actually to his astonishment,

his amazement, despite all of the flashing

from the bombs throughout the night,

was our flag waving high through it all.

Our flag wove right through today break.
