So a few weeks ago, I had a listener reach out to me. His name is Jim Smiley. He's on the board of

directors of the Ballard Center in Lawrence, Kansas. And he reached out and said, hey, I'd love for you to come to our gala as my guest, have a big fancy steak dinner. I'll buy you drinks, the whole deal. And we had a lake weekend plan and I was unable to attend the event. But he sent me a video of Ballard Center and the kids that benefit from the great work that they've been doing there since the

1960s. Really about the time. but he sent me a video of Ballard Center and the kids that benefit from the great work that they've

for a long, long time and has helped countless families and children in and around Lawrence

in Douglas County. And I was so touched by the video because I mean this completely and honestly.

I want everybody that listens to podcast to understand this. I could feel the love from the

children that they were receiving from the staff and the services at Ballard Center.

And that's a hard thing to feel through video. When you're not around somebody, you can,

you know, look in their eyes or hug them

or kind of sense what's going on in the room. And it was really moving. And I felt bad that I couldn't go to the event. And I reached out to Jim and I say, hey, let's get you on the podcast.
