I lived in the Everglades on my life.

Most of it just south of Little Shark River on the west side of Oyster Bay.

My place is right on the edge of the water and my nearest neighbor is over a mile away.

That's how I like it too.

Ain't that fond of people as rule.

It had me a little red bone hound named Skeeter for the last five years and it's been

a lot of time out in the glades, hunting and fishing.

No matter where I was going, he would come along.

Heard him barking up a storm out by the water earlier on a Sunday morning about three weeks ago.

No, I, uh, I ain't seen him since.

Been worried that maybe a gator got him.

Other than that, or somebody took him and almost rather it'd be the gator.

I got a chicken coop sat in my house where I was keeping four laying hens.

Billing itself is small, maybe six by ten just like my house.

It sits on stumps about two feet off the ground in case my yard floods.

The last Saturday morning I went out to gather eggs and one of my hens was missing.

I looked around for a good while and never found no sign of her.

It could have been a bird of prey that got her.

Figured it might have been likely coyotes.

They've been a lot braver these last years and those shy of people as they used to be.

Plus, skatering been around to warn them off.

After I noticed that the chickens they'd been coming out into the yard is often usual,
