There's a bit less sizzle in the labor market.

The Labor Department said today that 2006,000 new jobs were created in June.

Most of the job gains were in government, health care, family services, and construction.

The May jobs number was revised down, and the June unemployment rate ticked up to 4.1%.

Wages rose 3 tenths last month that was lower than May's increased, but still up 3.9% over the same time last year.

Stocks' bonds and the British pound all rose today after the resounding victory yesterday of the UK's Centre Left Labor Party.

Labour's landslide win gives investors clarity instability.

Stock and British home builders was up in

anticipation of government targets for home construction.

Sacks Fifth Avenue was buying Neiman Marcus Group, the parent company of Neiman-Marcus and

Berdorf-Goodman, for more than $2 billion. The deal is subject to regulatory
