You should understand.

There is a absolute fracturing of American society going on as we speak.

And people react.

You know, when I was a baby lawyer, I had a lawyer who was a mentor of mine.

And he said, you know, you will note that no matter how the law changes,

smart people will react and respond to that law.

And smart people will find a way to thrive despite stupid laws.

The question will be how long will it take them to figure out a way around it?

And this was in particular in response to a project we were working on.

A lot of when I started as a baby lawyer, the real estate business was at limited partnerships

were primarily driven by reduction of tax liability.

If you could find a way to reduce or eliminate taxes that you owed,

then you could make a deal that otherwise didn't make sense financially,

make all the sense in the world.

There's a church on every corner, partly because they don't pay taxes.

That's why everybody calls themselves a church.

They believe in organizations that clearly are not a church.

But nobody wants to do anything about it because the headline is,

Senator Jones against church, and so everyone will rail against them.

So we have to have an all or nothing mindset.
