Let's start with the idea that if you don't protect your property, if you don't enforce

the rule of law, then you are left with something some people actually deeply desire, and

that is anarchy. May him, chaos. And the concept of security, concept of stability, can unravel

so quickly, it's always shocking when it does, when you see a CNN reporter out in front

of a quote, mostly peaceful protest where the building behind him is burning down. When on 9-11,

two towers fall, and everything that was is no longer none of the concept, you don't have to

walk on this side of the sidewalk anymore. You don't have to wait to enter the intersection. You

don't have to wait on the lights. They're knocked out. It's sort of a post apocalyptic odd environment.

And this concept of the rule of law is a great advancement. It is the idea that you don't have to waste

a lot of your energy protecting that which you create so that you can create more. You can build

more, you can construct more, you can bake more, you can cook more, because you're not going to have

to be constantly mindful like an animal in the wild that someone is going to take your possessions.

But there is a mindset that, well, it's okay, because no one would take from you unless they

needed and anything they take from you. You probably had an abundance and didn't need all of what

you kept. So there have been a series of stories that have emerged over the last couple of months

about squatters. People who take up residence in a home that they do not own and they begin to live

there. And our system is refusing to throw them out or to in any way punish them. There was a

story last week actually a story last month that probably relates to these same folks. It's an

update to an ABC 13 story. Myerland squatters move into yet another home story ABC 13.

See, behind me, there are apparently squatters living in it. But what's interesting here is they

are apparently the same people according to court records. We've looked at it witnesses. We've

talked to that the same people who squatted in a house just around the corner up a few weeks ago.
