With a new House majority cuts to federal spending should take center-state,

so where are the prime cuts to our bloated federal budget?

Chris Edwards, director of tax policy studies at the Cato Institute, names more than a few

billions of dollars that should no longer burden taxpayers.

Mike Pence on a number of occasions in the fall was offered opportunities to name spending.

Newt Gingrich, presumably a Republican Party leader, was offered opportunities to name spending that ought to be cut and these guys were not coming up

with very good answers and now we have a large Tea Party contingent coming into Congress this year.

What should they be looking at?

On the campaign trail, it is true that even the Tea Party Republican candidates such as

Ran Paul would often dodge the question when asked by reporters,

well what specific program would you cut?

So Rand Paul, for example, you know, would often say, well, I would look at at I would look to the Cato Institute to find

spending cuts but he wouldn't answer directly which programs he would cut well now

that they're coming into office they're moving into the Senate and the House, they need to find particular

programs to cut.

We have a budget emergency in Washington, deficits are over a trillion dollars.

These folks were elected on their promises to cut the

growth size of government in Washington. Of course whenever you start naming

spending cuts you start to lose people. Are there large cuts that have a broad base of support?
