So Bob, enough about Little House and the Prairie and the Bionic Woman, let's do a podcast

0:05.8

in which I have a really fun time reviewing an ethics case from my insurance company detailing

0:14.9

a case that involves firearms. What do you say? Let's get into it. It's definitely wasn't me involved.

0:21.3

So the client is a 35-year-old married female with two minor children, meaning kids, right?

0:31.3

Long-standing history of depression and substance use disorder for the 35-year-old woman.

0:37.5

She had participated in an inpatient treatment program for substance abuse in the past,

0:43.2

however, she continued to struggle with substance abuse. The client's psychiatric medication

1:32.8

client questionnaire that the psychiatrist administered, the client indicated she indicated that she had

1:38.0

thoughts of hurting herself in the past. Shortly after the initial psychiatric evaluation,

1:44.4

the client's husband contacted the treating psychiatrist and the husband, so the husband calls

1:50.3

or emails or something. I'm guessing it's a phone call. The husband calls a psychiatrist to report

1:55.8

new symptoms, brand new symptoms of paranoia and bizarre behavior, and an increase in alcohol,

2:02.0

consumption, and a concern that the client had guns in the home so that the family had guns in the

2:08.5

home. So this is kind of interesting because why out of nowhere, the husband would know, right,

2:15.2

about the wife's presentation and to have right after starting treatment, suddenly paranoia,
