Summary

New Discourses Bullets, Ep. 33 Woke works through reframing, and much of the reframing occurs by passing every bit of relevant information through what they refer to as "theoretical lenses." These "lenses" might include Theories like Critical Race Theory or Queer Theory, agendas like Sustainability, or focuses like diversity, equity, and inclusion. This lensing effect distorts perception and comprehension and enables Woke manipulation, like seeing the world in a fun-house mirror. Understanding that all information that has been passed through Woke sources has been "lensed" is crucial to understanding it accurately and engaging it in a smart way. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, host James Lindsay breaks down the approach so you can correct for the Woke lensing effect. Join him to see things more clearly. Hey everybody, it's James Lindsay and you're listening to new discourses, Bullets, in which

0:14.8

I give a short bullet point style summary of some single topic from woke Marxism or relevant

0:21.2

to woke Marxism that you need to know and understand to be able to do what we do to fight

0:25.4

it. And at the great risk, I think I'm going to create a new word today. I don't think

0:30.7

it's a word. It is a word, but I'm going to misuse it. I'm going to take a noun and

0:33.7

turn it into a verb, very woke thing to do. Frankly, that word is lens. And I want to

0:38.9

talk about lensing. I need you to understand that what they do is lensing or framing or

0:46.9

reframing is another way to put it. But they use the word theoretical lens, the woke

0:51.4

use the word theoretical lens all the time. And so what this is is when they take an

0:58.0

issue and they apply a particular interpretive lens to it in order to understand it in a

1:04.8

particular way. So usually what you're going to find is that they are going to take something

1:11.1

that was said and they're going to put a lens on it and discover how it was hidden racism.

1:17.1

So if you were to talk, say about operand conditioning and applied psychology happening

1:21.4

through social emotional learning and then compare it to Pavlov's dogs because that's

1:25.9

really where it kind of began. That's where operand conditioning comes from. The CRT

1:31.2

lensing effect might say that if you talk about brainwashing kids with SEL, especially

1:38.6

minority kids, now you're comparing minority children to dogs. And they've lensed it into

1:45.4

a racist interpretation. And we're all frustrated with these kinds of things. We're all frustrated

1:51.5

with these contortions of how things to be interpreted. What you have to understand and what

1:56.4

I really want to communicate now that I've kind of given you a taste of what I mean by lensing.

1:59.8

And I could give you a million examples from my own life, right? So I somehow have had

2:05.6

my claims that they are running an operation drag Floyd to provoke, provoke, provoke
