I'm Matt Lynch, a co-host of OnScript, along with Matt Bates, Andrew Johnson, Aaron

Heim, Chris Tilling, and Amy Brown Hughes.

And apologies for the sound quality of this recording.

Again, I'm on the road, and I'm using a little handheld recording

device, but it gets the job done. Today's episode is very special. It's the first of a two-part

interview between Dr. Amy Brown Hughes and the Reverend Dr. John Bear. We recorded this in

Shelton Hall at Nishota House Theological Seminary in Wisconsin

beneath the bust of a 12-point deer. Can you say bust with a deer? Anyway, a deer head

was on the wall right above us while we did the interview, which gave this episode real ambiance,

and I think it comes through and a quality of the discussion.

We had a wonderful time and thanks so much to all of you who came out for the event. It was a lot of

fun and I think it's safe to say we all had our minds blown and we're duly challenged on reading

the patristics, especially origin. So we appreciate so much the Nishota House for hosting us for that evening and for supplying

food and beverages.
