Summary

Dr. Leighton Flowers plays clips from Calvinistic pastor, Dr. John MacArthur, answering the problem of evil (Theodicy) and contrasts it with scholars who advocate for the free will defense, such as Ravi Zacharias, John Lennox, CS Lewis, Lee Strobel and Greg Laurie. This video highlights the distinction between a consistent Calvinistic answer to the problem of evil with that of non-Calvinists (Arminianism or Provisionism).

They were okay with evil exists, and they were okay with God exists.

1:40.5

They were even okay with God as sovereign.

1:42.1

As long as you limit his sovereign power or his

sovereign knowledge. They don't want to deny the power of God. They don't want to deny the

1:52.6

knowledge of God. They just want to limit that. The panic attack hits them because they just can't let God be held responsible for evil.

2:04.9

And they want to save God from a fate worse than death, being responsible for the existence

of evil in the world.

Now, how do they go about doing this?
