Several years ago, we started a new tradition in our family around Christmas time.

It's Secret Santa, but with a twist, everyone secretly pulls one name to get one present

for one person, but the twist is, the gift has to match that person's love language.

You may be familiar with Gary Chapman's book, Five Love Languages.

They are quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, touch, or an active service, so each

gift given is one only, truly unique, customized, and the only one of its kind, created for just

that one person.

It occurred to me last Christmas.

How much that is a reflection of God's gift to us through His Son?

Well, this meditation from 1 John 4 is a reflection on the gift of God's one and only Son who

is truly unique and the only one of His kind.

As you begin this meditation, begin to take inventory of any distracting thoughts as they

slip now behind you.

Now your intentions to shift from the world to the eternal, from the gifts of the earth

to the gifts of heaven, peeling away the disturbances of the world to reveal God at loving

rest within you, centering on this present moment of love from God, Spirit, and Son.
