It is a Holocaust drama about a Nazi commandant's family living next to the Auschwitz

concentration camp. Though the death that surrounds the idealic home is not shown, frequent

reminders of the atrocities juxtaposed with the family's cold demeanor make for a squeamish

one hour and 45 minutes. The zone of interest carries a 93 on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience

score of 78.

It is nominated for five Academy Awards, Best Picture, Best Director, Jonathan Glazer, Best Adapted

Screenplay, Jonathan Glazer, Best International Film, and Best Sound.

Oh, yeah.

This is a tremendous movie and a horrible time. It is a horrible time. I would like to apologize to what, what are films we've said this about, uh, like, great movie. Don't, I don't know if I'll be able to see it again. We said that about uncut gems for sure. Said that about Oppenheimer just because like the length like this that feels disrespectful

now because and like I don't want to say that I'll never watch this movie again I just will

I would have to be in a real strong frame of mind and like prep myself to see this movie I

I truly actually loved this movie I thought that that it was amazing, but boy, it is a tough, tough watch.

Yeah.

So of all of the nominations, it is received, I think that in addition to best picture,

its most deserving is best director because this is, I know it's based loosely on a novel.

So I don't know if this is, well, I guess in how it's being directed, this would have to be kind of a unique spin on it.
