Summary

I’M BACK – Thank you so much for hanging in there with me, while I took some time away from the podcast rather unexpectedly. I miss my dad quite a bit, so coming back has been really daunting. If you read this far, thank you again for hanging out until I got it all together to come back to a place I’ve called ‘home’ for the last 10 years. I’m not done with TCCWL [probs will do this into my 70s! lol]

You might remember this phrase from health class: “All medicines are drugs, but not all drugs are medicines.” It was a simple reminder that while there’s nothing wrong with needing medication, even the ones that sound intimidating, we have to be careful about what we take and how much. All medicines are drugs, and all drugs carry risks.

Content Warnings: murder, prescription drug use, familicide, mentions of suicide.

Before we begin this episode, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has

checked in on me since September.

0:20.5

I lost my stepfather,

0:22.9

September 12th, and his loss has been really difficult for me. It put me in a very difficult

0:30.3

headspace to even want to come back and create content in the way that I did either online

0:35.2

or even through the podcast.

0:39.3

And I just needed some time to heal.

I recently celebrated my birthday on November 16th.

Thank you in advance for all of the birthday wishes.

I realized that I needed to take some time definitely for myself and really just kind of focus on trying to get my little spark back, things that

0:55.7

make me excited to create content. So I really appreciate everyone hanging in. I'm not going to lie,

1:02.8

it is a little nerve-wracking to be back on the podcast, but this is what I love to do. It is one

1:08.2

of the things that brings me a lot of joy to be able to share

1:11.3

cases from a really empathetic point of view. On top of the loss of my father, before that,

1:18.5

I had to let go of some friendships within the true crime community. As you all know, I am a

very staunch advocate for ethics and advocacy within true crime creation and

consumption. And unfortunately, there are people who I felt were not really living by those

tenants, despite saying they did, if that makes sense. It meant that I had to withdraw my support
