The Free Trail podcast is back.

One final time in 2021 for an end of year recap of all the news and performances and stories

from the world of Trail and Ultra Running alongside my good friend and frequent collaborator.

Corinne Malcolm is here and we compressed the last 365 days into an hour of ultramarathon

conversation. And as usual, when Corinne and I get together, we had a lot to talk about

as two voters for Ultrar Runner of the year,

Ultra Running Magazine's end of year award. Corinne and I started our conversation by ticking

through the top three from our ballots. We talked about some of the international athletes

deserving of recognition. We talked about the performances of the year from our perspective,

some of the biggest news stories. We handed out the Bill Duper Spirit Award, which was my creation

to honor two people who have made contributions to the sport outside of race performance.

And then we finish with some future predictions, some fun prognosticating,

and some personal reflections from the year that was. It is always great to talk to Corinne.

She always opens my eyes and my brain to new things. And it was great to close the year off with her here
