I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, a fantastic Hanukkah, and celebrated the completely arbitrary

turning of a calendar page and ways that made

their lives better and richer and whatever your resolutions I hope they last

at least until the eyes of January.

Okay so we've been sort of short on big picture punditry state of America thumb suckery

and I figure since we are beginning a new year where everything is going to get worse,

we should have my friend and colleague Matt Kontanetti back.

Matt, you're now, again, we've talked about this before, this is a known thing,

but I can never remember your actual title, because you're management now, you're a I am a suit you were a suit you're also the common I hate the way pod always has to put the word commentary in the title of people who write for commentaries or either the media commentary

commentary columnist is that right? I'm actually Jonah there was a there was a shakeup in

commentary a few years ago and so I moved from the media commentary

I'm not going to now the Washington column I apologize in both cases replacing

my friend in idle, Andrew Ferguson's shoes. I cannot fill in any way, but I simply

look up to the shoes every time I begin typing out a new column.

Andy is a truly great American.

I will agree with you on that.
