Hello and welcome to the Yarniaks podcast. This is episode number 363, which we're recording on Wednesday, December 10th, 2025.

And I'm Charlene.

And we are back at the Ot Harbor today, and we are having the coolest show right now.

How would you describe what we're seeing?

It's a feeding frenzy.

Literally.

Of cormorants, we think they are.

Cormorants, and we think they are feeding on a school of anchovies.

There are a couple of white herons, a couple of egrets, and we've probably seen about six sea lions floating in and out yeah at least six so

we're hoping you get to hear the pook of air when they surface they aren't in front

of us right now but in the area in front of us we have boats on either side and there

were literally like five sea lions floating around all at the same time with all the birds.

There's another big one. Yeah. And now the birds are swimming away again, but they'll be back.

And characteristically, when they surface, they do, they release a big poof of air so you can hear it.

Yep. So if you hear that sound, that is a sea lion hitting the surface. And

there, a lot of the birds have been coming up with little silver fish in their beaks. Yeah.

I've never seen so many little fish squiggling around in so many beaks at once before. It's pretty

cool, you guys. I wish that we could share it with you visually. Hopefully the

description is enough, but we are very excited to be here today. It's really, really cool.

We have like Mother Nature putting on a show. It's amazing. But we're here for the knitting.

What are you wearing? Well, I have been wearing my Pacific Crest, which is a sweater by Elizabeth Doherty I know I want to knit this one again that's the first thing that I have to say about it somehow on that one I just got a perfect fit and if I knit it again I probably won't get the perfect fit because you know how that goes.
