This is episode number 325, which we are recording on Sunday, June 30th, 2024.

I'm Gail.

And I'm Charlene.

And we're a little bit late with this recording and you

might notice my voice is pretty thrashed and that's why we're late. I've been sick all week.

So apologies for the late recording. But we are now up in the trees at the University of California

at Santa Cruz and we are just delighting in being together and being in nature and being

away from our families. I'm loving it because we are recording old school. This is post-pandemic

recording when we had to record in the car because our families were in our houses. Constantly.

And today our families are in the houses so we are

recording in the car again but we're loving it this time we've got our boba we've got our knitting

and here we go charlene what are you wearing well i have been wearing my calyx sweater

calyx is a pattern by eliz Elizabeth Doherty and I have made it twice

because I love the version that I made. I loved the first version that I made. The version that I have

been wearing is actually the second one that I made because it was made in linen yarn, which is perfect for this time of year.

The linen yarn that I used is 46% linen, 42% silk, and 12% wool. So there's a little bit of three

different fibers in one strand, and I kind of feel like you get

the best of all those worlds combined in a really nice yarn. What yarn is it? It's Shiboui Twig. Oh,

I've never knit with that. Which is a very nice linen yarn. And it works very well

in the mornings here when we still have the marine layer and June has been typically foggy.

So I have been able to get a lot of wear out of it.
