| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the Yarniaks podcast. |
| 0:10.7 | This is episode number 196, which we are recording on Sunday, June 30th, 2019. |
| 0:17.8 | I'm Gail. |
| 0:18.5 | And I'm Shirley. |
| 0:19.5 | And we are back at UCSC recording today like we did our last |
| 0:24.1 | episode because it has been so beautiful it is just irresistible to not record outside it's |
| 0:30.0 | very pleasant up here very beautiful wonderful today not too hot there's lots of birds out |
| 0:36.4 | yeah we have to apologize for that in advance. |
| 0:38.8 | There seem to be a family of crows nearby that are very, very boisterous today. |
| 0:43.6 | Yes. They're having a party of some sort. Yes. All right. What are you wearing? |
| 0:49.0 | I am wearing my awesome, awesome ginga top, which is a pattern by Yoko Johnston. I believe I knit this |
| 0:58.1 | last year. It seems like you must have knit it right at the end of the season, and that's why I've |
| 1:05.5 | never seen me wear it. Yeah, because I think I didn't wear it very much after I knit it, but I am so happy to be wearing |
| 1:13.5 | it today because it's awesome. The ginga top, and there's two versions of this pattern, I made |
| 1:19.8 | the one for warmer weather, and I used the coast yarn by Holstgarn, and the ginga top is a pullover t-shirt top with lace insets |
| 1:31.5 | on the shoulders and at the very bottom there is a lace panel around the bottom of the t-shirt |
| 1:40.3 | it is light and airy, easy to wear. I made it long enough to almost, it's kind of a tunic. |
| 1:52.7 | It's not a super long tunic, but it covers. It covers the booty. Yeah. So this is a great little top that right now I just threw on over leggings, perfect for a casual recording day. |
| 2:08.9 | And I'm pleased to see it because I want to knit the other version that has the longer sleeves, which I will knit a little longer, more tunic-y length. |
| 2:18.3 | But this is inspiring me to move that up higher in my queue. |
| 2:22.1 | Yeah, and I think I could actually knit the longer sleeve version for colder weather as well, |
| 2:29.8 | because I find it that pleasant. |
