Summary

Our regular recording time is sometimes bumped by one of our work schedules, which was the case this week. So it was a surprise to me when Gayle texted me the afternoon of our regular recording day to find out if I could meet later that evening. Though it meant finding an impromptu spot to record in the car, we quickly decided to give it a try. It was dark, so we drove down to the harbor in hopes of finding better lighting. What we found was a holiday treat! The annual lighted boat parade had taken place this past weekend and the boats were still dressed in their holiday best! It was lovely to sit and watch the boats bobbing up and down giving us a little holiday light show.

In this episode we share a new collection from Joji Locatelli, share a new yarn we swatched, share
our regular segments and start to think about the new year and our upcoming Self-Indulgent Knit-A-Long 2016. We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and taking time to slow down and carve a little bit of time for knitting, crafting, and spending time with your loved ones.

event that happens every year in Santa Cruz called the Lighted Boat Parade. I'm sure there are

lighted boat parades and other harbors as well.

0:39.4

And so Gail and I are in the parking lot of the harbor right now, just a couple days after the

0:46.4

lighted boat parade. And we're looking at all of the boats that are lit up from the parade. It's like a house. People turn their Christmas

0:58.6

lights on in their house. Well, people have turned on all their Christmas lights on their boats.

1:03.3

And so there's all the masks are lit up. Some of the boats have decorations on them. There's a

1:10.0

little dancing Santa that we can see on

one boat. One boat is wrapped in what's supposed to be snow, I guess, and then it spells out joy

1:20.3

along the edge and lights. There's stars. I see a moon, big snowflakes. There was some reindeer, I think, out there. I know. I think that's a whole sleigh.

1:30.8

Beautiful. It is absolutely beautiful. And of course, they're all bobbing gently because they're in the water.

1:36.8

And it is simply magical. It is. It's really nice. Gail said it looked like a scene from Disneyland.

1:43.1

And it really does. It's really, really pretty. So we looked like a scene from Disneyland and it really does.

1:44.6

It's really, really pretty.

1:45.6

So we won't be seeing any sea otters or sea lines even though they're out there right now.

1:50.7

We can't see them because it's dark, but oh my goodness, we picked a perfect place.

1:55.2

I know, we did.
