I know for us as Americans, we might hype this up, and if we have European listeners, they

might think we're making more of this than it probably deserves in the scope of the war,

but...

Oh, yeah, I mean, we're kidding, and we're going to talk about that very thing because

there's a lot of question even today about what America's role was in the war and should

America have even been involved in Americans themselves?

We'll ask that question sometime, and because I think you've taught this to students many

times in the past, and you've probably gauged their knowledge of what World War One

is, and I'd like to start us off with that.

So James, when you introduce World War One to students and you ask what they know about
