Last night, the New York Yankees did what they do every single day. They won a baseball game. It's how they roll. It's how they've gotten to a 25 and 11 record. It's how

they've won five in a row. But sitting there last night at beautiful Yankee Stadium, I came

away even more impressed because you play 162 games. You're going to lose games. Like, even the

best of best will lose 50 times, 60 times, 70 times.

And last night, when young Elmer Rodriguez towed the rubber, and he walked the first two batterers of the game,

and he gave up a base hit, and he hit a batter, and he was facing bases loaded, already down 3-0.

He'd thrown a wild pitch.

He'd hit a batter.

I mean, it was just a cavalcade of badness

from a young pitcher.

Somehow he escaped.

And even escaping at 3-0 against Jacob de Grom,

it just felt like, Yankees are going to lose.

And instantly, the offense scores are run in the first, two in the second. They scrape back and eventually win a baseball game with their bullpen stranding every single person they inherited. The Yankees on a nightly basis. Including a basis loaded. Yeah. Oh, no doubt. David Bettner coming in for a five-out save. Like the Yankees are now routinely just impressing you every single night. And last night was one of those wins that you look at and say, wow, okay. Right. Especially because it's Jacob de Grom on the mound. It's not some slub who just happens to be making his, I don't know, third start in Major League Baseball. So, look, the Yankees are great this year. They are now taught. Did the Braves won last night? They did, unfortunately. The Braves are a game ahead or half a game, whatever you want to say it is. But they have the best record in American League, and they're one of the best teams by win-loss record in all of baseball. And it doesn't feel like it's stopping, right? They've won 15 of the last 17 or five in a row.

The only thing we wanted to complain about at the beginning of the season was the bullpen.

But no matter what David Bednar does, whether he gives up a triple or he walks the bases loaded,

he finds ways to get out of it. So you can't even complain really about the bullpen where we

thought the weakness was.

Fernando Cruz has been fantastic.

Tim Hill was the only one that had some troubles in this one, but what's their weakness?

Like the only weakness is what we expect to happen in June, because it happens every June?

The June swoon? But other than that, it's almost like, what do you even say about this team? Ryan McMahon's even hitting now. He's in 320 and last whatever 12 games. That was the moment, by the way. I'm sitting there when Ryan McMahon is fouling pitches off and then eventually parks a two-run home run off of the great Jacob de Grom. That's the moment you look around and say.
