Hey everybody, welcome to the writing room. So glad you're joining us. And I'm here with my friend Kim.

Hi, Bob. It's so great to be here. It's very exciting because we have a friend on today that you and I both adore. So it'll be a great

conversation. How cool is this? So Jason, Evan Ruler's been a friend for a long time,

has written some great books, and he's got another one coming out. So I thought it would be

a great time to just tap in. I want to talk to Jason about a couple things. First, the, like the process, because a lot of you that are listening to this podcast are interested in writing. You've got an idea. You've got an expertise. You've got something you want to communicate to people. So I want to talk about a process. And then I want to dig into the book itself. So Jason, welcome to the podcast.

Oh, thank you so much for having me.

It is always great to talk with both of you. So I'm thrilled to be here. Yeah, this is good stuff.

Tell me about you've written a couple books. And was this one like an easier book to write or more

difficult? People that are listening, many of them have a book in them.

Some of them don't even know they have a book in them. But there's an arc to the things they're

thinking about. They keep returning to that same idea. They're spinning that puzzle piece.

How do you move from getting a general idea to actually starting to put that into words that

turn into pages, that turn into books?

Yeah, I think you just have to put it down on paper. There's a very wise person who taught me

about this, Bob. He looks a lot like you, in fact. Only older. Yeah, only older. Only older. I

remember him younger. And so this person, this person said, you just got to get to it. And so I think with this book, it just started off as really kind of this loose idea of I'd always loved the five love languages. And I thought, man, what if there was a book like that about communication? And that was like just the idea. And I didn't really know any more than

that. And I just started writing. And so through the writing, it became clear where it was really

going. But I just kind of started trying to answer the question or the idea I had.

Yeah. Before we get into the guts of this new book that's out, one of the many ways that you

could think if you're in this area of contemplatingly, how is it that I'm going to say what I have
