Welcome back everyone to part two of the wreck of the Golden Mary by Charles Dickens.

In the first half of the wreck of the Golden Mary, Captain William George

Ravender takes command of a ship bound for the California Goldfields. Accompanied by his devoted

chief mate, John Stedeman, at a small group of passengers, the voyage begins with a sense of

optimism. However, the ship eventually strikes an iceberg in the dark frozen waters near Cape Horn and founders.

The survivors escape in two boats, the long boat and the surfboat, facing extreme exposure, starvation, and thirst.

A central figure in the struggle is Golden Lucy, a young child who becomes a symbol of hope for the crew.

The physical wasting of the survivors reaches its peak as the last of the coffee berries and water run out.

With Captain Ravinder eventually collapsing from exhaustion and exposure, Stedeman must take the helm and maintain the last sparks of hope.

The focus here shifts to the mental fortitude required to survive when all physical resources are

gone, testing the bond between the two boats.
