When it comes to presidents, we all know the giants.

Washington, Lincoln, Jefferson, FDR, Teddy Roosevelt.

But what about the presidents who don't score monuments, airport monikers, or bobbleheads?

What I mean is, who are the worst presidents ever?

Every few years, 170 members of the American Political Science Association's

Presidents and Executive Politics Section rank our nation's leaders in order,

from top to bottom.

Recently, the survey made some news when our current president, Donald Trump, showed up dead last.

Obviously, that's not a settled question yet.

But the bottom five, over time, have pretty much stayed the same.

And here they are.

Coming in at Fifth Worst, Warren Harding.

Harding presided over a White House filled with drama and corruption,

but none of it was traced back to him.

His own record in office was mixed.

The 29th president opposed Woodrow Wilson's League of Nations, the precursor to the United Nations. His pro-business stance slashed taxes for corporations in the wealthy.

He was pro-tariff and anti-immigration.

He boosted the economy with a plan that raised interest rates, reduced the public debt, and balanced the federal budget.

But ultimately, his legacy could not withstand the so-called teapot dome scandal.

Essentially, a shady and bizarre land deal he presided over that involved, according to the history channel, quote,
