It is summertime, baby.

But sadly, this is not a gushing appraisal of any scorching summer slam sizzlers that happen

during the tail end of the 80s into the 90s and then forwards into a new millennium or the 2010s

and 20s.

Nope, this is an exhaustive look designed to cherry pick the single worst

moments from every iteration of the slam in the summer. That's to date, of course, we're not

going to do this year's because that would make me a time traveler. But yeah, there's been a lot

of bad moments, so we're going to talk about them. I'm Gareth, this is What Culture Wrestling,

and here is the worst moment from every

WWE SummerSlam. Number 38, missing a hot natural feud in 1988. This just did not make a lick of

sense. And I, yeah, you, stop licking senses, it's rude. SummerSlam was the WWF's brand new

supercard in 1988.

Workhorses Rick Rude and Jake Roberts had a heated feud going into the event,

but they were not programmed together on the show.

Instead, Rood worked opposite Junkyard Dogg, and Robert wrestled Hercules in a nothing

match later on.

Admittedly, Roberts did run in on Rood versus Junkyard Dog when the ravishing one revealed that he had an air-brushed pick of Jake's wife on his tights.

But yeah, that was about it.

Quite why Vince McMahon thought it was necessary to go into a new concept like Somerslam without leaning on a hot rivalry like this one

is anyone's guess. It was nonsensical, really. Sure, Rude and Roberts had bored everyone to

sleep with a 15-minute draw during the WWF title tournament at WrestleMania 4, but that was

circumstantial. They had to do the distance in March, so both would be eliminated from the running to become the champion.
