The subject of today's conversation is the fact that right now, as I speak, 20 million

people in four countries are at risk of starvation.

U.N. is calling this the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II.

But despite those staggering numbers, those frightening descriptions, and opinion polls,

only 15% of Americans are actually aware that this crisis is happening.

And I don't raise that to blame anyone, it's not their fault because this has also been

called the least reported but most important major issue of our time.

So I want to do my small part to address that information gap today in my conversation

with David Millivant.

David is the president and CEO of the International Rescue Committee.

You've seen him before.

He was the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and a member of Parliament

for a very long time.

He's a brilliant guy.

And in our conversation, we talked about the fact that the small silver lining here is

that this famine isn't because of forces outside of our control.

This is not the weather, this is not an act of God.

A lot of this suffering is a direct result of wars and conflicts that can be ended.

So we spent our time talking about what's happening and what we all can do financially,

politically, to help people who desperately need it.
