Summary

Garret Price and Andrew Mott are breaking down the worst dynasty startup picks in every round based on ADP. This episode is not just about disliking players, but about identifying where risk, age, injury history, role uncertainty, and value loss can create dangerous draft investments. Listen to This Episode: Apple Podcasts Spotify YouTube The conversation starts at the top with Lamar Jackson, whose age, rushing profile, and long term value concerns make him a risky first round investment compared to younger cornerstone assets. From there, the guys work through names like Jonathan Taylor, Christian McCaffrey, Rashee Rice, and Saquon Barkley as players who could lose value faster than dynasty managers expect. Later rounds bring different questions. Javonte Williams, Oronde Gadsden, Malik Willis, Chuba Hubbard, Davante Adams, DK Metcalf, and Travis Hunter all spark debate about role security, ceiling, and whether their current price leaves enough room for profit. Welcome back into the Dynasty Nerds podcast. I am your host, Garrett Price, and I'm here with

0:06.0

Andrew Ma. And today, we are going to be looking at the worst pick of every round, according to

0:12.1

ADP, that you could possibly make. If you like this type of content, make sure to like, sub, subscribe,

0:19.6

hype, whatever, whatever you can do to help out this

0:22.3

video, this podcast. We greatly, greatly appreciate it. Andrew, let's get right into things here.

0:29.8

We are looking at the worst possible pick you could make. If you were doing a dynasty startup

0:34.0

today, the worst possible pick you could have in each round now before we get into it

0:39.9

tell me how you're kind of feeling about this what you're thinking about this exercise yeah i mean

0:45.2

for me when it comes to an exercise like this if i'm thinking for worst pick for me it's like an

0:52.0

investment right a startup draft is where you start to invest in players

0:55.5

and build a dynasty roster. So if I'm going to be spending high-end draft capital early on,

1:00.9

first, second, third-round picks, things like that, I want those players to be able to hold

1:05.2

value long-term. And then as I get later into the draft, 7, 8, 9 eight ninth round I want those players to be able to

1:12.1

increase in value not just stay the same I want those guys to grow as investments for my roster so

1:17.5

for me I kind of look at it as making that investment the players who are probably going to be the

1:23.4

worst picks in each round are the players at the most risk of losing value or never gaining value

1:29.9

long term. So that's kind of how I view it. I'm not sure how you view it. Do you kind of view it the same way?

1:34.9

Very similar. In my startups, I am, I'd like to play it safe in the early rounds. And then later on,

1:41.4

it's all about sealing. That's what I care about after, after, you know, the first few rounds of a draft.

1:46.1

So that will definitely play a role in this.

1:49.8

Sometimes it's not always going to necessarily be the player that we don't like,

1:53.2

but it's the situation that we don't necessarily like.
