And why are we so kind of passionately warned about it in scripture?

You know, James says that pure religions to keep yourself unstained or unpolluted from the world.

How do you do that?

What are the categories that you even begin to think in?

And so that's all this is.

It's just an attempt over several episodes to try and put some categories out there

to begin to think through this thing called the world and why in heaven's name would friendship with it be enmity with God?

So warned about right? It's terrifying and it also like feels impossible how are we not

committing this? How are we not in the world yes yes

well as Wordsworth said the world is too much with us so last time a quick definition as we did in our opening

podcast in the series, we're not talking about nature, the world as in

planet Earth. God loves planet Earth. And we're not talking about the world as mentioned in

John 316. God so loved the world that he gave his own son. We're not talking about

humanity. The world is we're using it here is something else. It is a deeply embedded system of values and assumptions and momentum created by the collective energy of human
