Did you know that you could fly from Los Angeles, California, United States to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, in business class for the same price as a routine dental appointment for an eight pound dog.

They just put dogs and cats, if that's your bag, under general anesthesia, anesthesia, for as long as four hours just to clean their teeth.

I have had major back surgery in last time.

The specifics of pet dental work were a mystery to me until this past Tuesday when my dog Jasper spent a solid chunk of the day in that liminal space between life and death.

They sonically removed tartar from the dog's teeth.

They take little dog teeth x-rays.

They call you to tell you which teeth are the most fucked,

and then they ask your permission to remove them because, of course, removing the teeth costs extra.

All of this happens while the dog is junk up with a tube down its throat on an operating table.

It was one of the worst days of my life and not just when I had to swipe my amics.

All that's to say, it's Jasper is fine, and I highly recommend pet insurance.

What else is new?

I still haven't seen the drama,

which is a really big flub on my part, but we all know what happens. So I guess there's no rush.
