The BBC World Service produces a really interesting podcast called Lives Less Ordinary.

Every series tells a different story and this time round the series is called Holdfast

and tells an extraordinary tale of the avonterre, a hundred-year-old sailing cargo ship which left Germany

heading for the Caribbean on a mission to transport olive oil, coffee and rum in early 2020.

What happened next could never have been predicted as the world was gripped by a global pandemic

and the 15 strong crew found themselves unable to disembark for 188 days.

It's an incredible story narrated by Chivalm McSweeney and based around a really

wonderful interview with the Aventure's cook, Julia. I was really chuffed to chat to producer

Christina Hardinge and composed Noamette, about making this truly immersive podcast series.
