What kind of week was it in this economy?

Well, that's what we're here to explain, right? From American public media. This is Marketplace.

In Los Angeles, I'm Kyle Rizdal. It is Friday today, the 18th day of November. I do believe

that it's always to have you along, everybody. You know, it seems to me that this has been for

want of a better phrase, kind of a take stock week in this economy. Nothing earth shattering

happened. No big news, no wild swings, no wild gyrations. But then again, it's entirely possible

that I'm, you know, wrong. Kate Davidson's at political, Lynette Lopez is at business insider,

and they will surely tell me if I'm off base, hey you two.

Okay. Okay. So Lynette, I'll go to you for the straight scoop. What do you think? Am I wrong?

This was kind of a take a breather week in this economy? Yeah, I think everybody's

ruling from the midterms last week. We had the inflation numbers last week and they weren't

like the best news in the world, but it seems like maybe, maybe if what we're going on is a

stage and we have a ceiling on inflation and we can start to think maybe, you know, the Fed

would have to hike forever. Well, so on that topic, thank you for the Segway, Ms. Lopez. Kate, we've

had a whole bunch of Fed regional bank presidents and federal open market committee members

speaking this week, and they all, in essence, except one of them, I'll get to in a minute,

they all basically said, oh no, no, no, no, we got to keep on going, keep on going,
