If you would go to 1 Corinthians the second chapter this morning, 1 Corinthians 2, and then I believe in a moment here we'll be going to Romans 10.

But 1 Corinthians 2 and 4, he said, my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom,

but in demonstration of the spirit and of power.

Verse five, that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,

but in the power of God.

Now we actually were on a series prior to this one called Faith in the Power of God,

and we're actually continuing in a different part of that in a new series.

We began last week.

But it had to do with this same basic belief and understanding of faith being in God's power

rather than men's thinking and doctrine and wisdom.

You should not have faith in God just because your mom and dad did.

Your faith in God shouldn't be based on your denomination or your group.

That's not enough.

I said it's not enough.

Your faith should be in the power of God, and you should have experienced the power of God in the new birth.

And that shouldn't be the end of it, that should be the beginning of a walk with God, wherein you experience, everybody

say experience.

You experience manifestations of God's power in your life.

You don't just write flowery things about God and hanging on your wall,

and it's just, you know, mental assent or doctrinal belief. You have experience in the reality

of God. You've experienced the person of the Lord by His Spirit.

Said out loud, I have faith in the power of God.
