Scripture speaks of the word of God, meaning the things God has said.

But scripture also uses the phrase the word of God as a name,

specifically as a name for Jesus Christ.

Just listen to the way John's Gospel begins.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things
